Welcome Association Italy participates in U.A.P. conference on transparency and control in Italian healthcare

Rome, Nov. 12, 2024 - Carlo Palumbo, deputy national secretary of the Welcome Association Italy (WAI), participated yesterday, Nov. 11, 2024, in a press conference organized by the National Union of Ambulatory Clinics, Outpatient Clinics, Institutions and Private Hospitals (U.A.P.), at the invitation of Professor Foad Aodi, president of the Association of Foreign Doctors in Italy (AMSI). The event was held at Palazzo Odescalchi Simonetti, headquarters of the Guglielmo Marconi Telematic University, via Vittoria Colonna 11, in the presence of key figures in the national health sector.

The meeting, titled "Transparency and Control in Italian Health Care: Toward a Fair and Sustainable System to Protect Citizens," featured an outstanding panel composed of representatives from leading Italian health care associations and institutions. Speakers included:

  • Dr. Maria Stella Giorlandino, president of U.A.P;
  • Dr. Valter Rufini, president of Federanisap;
  • Dr. Luca Marino, vice president of Unindustria Salute;
  • Dr. Michele Colaci, national president of Confapi Salute;
  • Dr. Elisa Interlandi, president of Anmed;
  • Professor Foad Aodi, president of AMSI.

The meeting was moderated by journalist Dr. Simona Cangelosi.

Welcome Association Italy's presence at the conference is motivated by its interest in gathering and disseminating up-to-date and accurate information regarding the National Health System (NHS). WAI, in fact, is committed to informing foreign nationals in Italy about issues of primary importance related to their health and stay in the country, with the aim of promoting informed integration and facilitating access to available health services.

WAI's participation in the meeting represents an important step toward greater collaboration between Italian health agencies and associations and entities involved in the care of foreigners in Italy, confirming the importance of ensuring transparency and accessibility to health information for all.
