Mediterranean International Excellence Award 2024: Prof. Foad Aodi among awardees

Rome, Oct. 22, 2024 - Yesterday, at Palazzo Valentini in Rome, the second edition of the Mediterranean International Excellence Award 2024 was held, an event dedicated to personalities who have distinguished themselves in the fields of culture, sports and the arts, with the participation of Welcome Association Italy, represented by deputy secretary Carlo Palumbo, at the invitation of Prof. Foad Aodi.

Prof. Foad Aodi, president of the Association of Doctors of Foreign Origin in Italy (AMSI) and the Euro-Mediterranean Medical Union, was honored for his ongoing efforts to promote intercultural and interreligious dialogue. During his speech, he reiterated the importance of an international conference for peace in the Middle East and his work for equitable and inclusive health care.

Awardees of the 2024 edition and motivations:

  • Giuseppe Marotta, president of Inter: honored for his outstanding managerial career and contribution to the success of the Nerazzurri club.
  • Hakan Calhanoglu, Inter Milan footballer: recognized for his talent and decisive contribution to the team's successes, including the Scudetto.
  • Gianfranco Zola, vice president of Serie C: honored for his fundamental role in the development of Italian soccer, both as a player and as an executive.
  • Ciro Immobile, footballer: for his extraordinary career and contribution as one of the best strikers in Italian football.
  • Daniele Santarelli, coach: honored for his achievements as a volleyball coach, including leading the Italian national team.
  • Silvia Salis, sports executive: recognized for her work in sports administration and support for sports development in Italy.
  • Manuel Bortuzzo, athlete: awarded for his courage and resilience, becoming a symbol of determination and strength.
  • Jamal Taslaq, Palestinian fashion designer: for his contribution to the world of fashion and his commitment to promoting cultural integration through design.
  • Matteo Signani, boxer: recognized for his successful career and commitment to the sport of boxing.
  • Karima Laraba, artist: awarded for her artistic contribution that unites different cultures and promotes dialogue between peoples.

The event, conceived by journalist Dundar Kesapli, has solidified its role as a platform to promote excellence and cooperation in the Mediterranean region by celebrating personalities who represent values of dialogue, culture and sports.

Welcome Association Italy, which has always been committed to supporting and protecting the rights of foreign citizens, thanks Prof. Foad Aodi for the invitation to participate in this prestigious event.
