Rome, Sept. 12, 2024 - An event organized by Welcome Association Italy (WAI) and the Italian-Arab Assadakah Association, focused on the sensitive issue of illegal immigration in Italy, was held today at the Horafelix Bookstore in Rome. The meeting, which was attended by numerous associations active in the field, centered on the presentation of the book by Egyptian writer Abdulaty Hosney, from which the event takes its title.
The evening was opened by greetings from Carlo Palumbo, Deputy Secretary General of WAI. This was followed by an introduction by Elisabetta Pamela Petrolati, who offered a framing of the topic of illegal immigration and its impact on the current social and political context.

The event's conclusions were entrusted to author Abdulaty Hosney, who recounted the stories collected in his book, offering firsthand accounts of the risks and hardships faced by illegal migrants.
In his book, Hosney tells the stories of migrants who, often unaware of the dangers, face dangerous journeys in search of a better life.
Particular attention is paid to the risks of migration by sea and the role of criminal organizations that exploit migrants.
