Entry visa to Italy for Indians

Among the millions of foreign nationals entering Italy for one reason or another, one huge community stands out, namely Indians. In fact, the trend that Indian citizens make up a conspicuous percentage of the total number of entries to Italy is reconfirmed. Attracted by the beauty of the Bel Paese, every year an unknown number of Indian nationals and citizens cross the Italian borders. Most of these citizens enter with a tourist visa, meaning a stay of no more than ninety days. In view of the high numbers, and in order to better support and assist members and readers, the Welcome Association Italy union offers a quick guide on how to apply for visas for Indian citizens. Step 1: search information In the first step, it is essential to search for information on the website of the Italian Embassy in New Delhi. In doing so, Indian citizens find the information, procedures and documents needed to be able to start the bureaucratic process, such as, for example, health coverage. Step 2: Required documents With the information gathered in the first step, the Indian citizen or national is aware of the documents needed to be able to obtain a visa. For example, in the case of a tourist visa of up to 90 days, the documents needed will be:
  1. entry visa application form
  2. recent passport-size photograph
  3. Valid travel document with an expiration date at least three months longer than that of the requested visa
  4. Round-trip travel ticket (or reservation), or proof of availability of personal means of transportation
  5. Proof of possession of economic means of livelihood, to the extent provided for in the Directive of the Ministry of the Interior 1.3.2000
  6. Supporting documentation of one's socio-professional status
  7. health insurance having a minimum coverage of €30,000 for emergency hospitalization and repatriation expenses, valid throughout the Schengen area
  8. Availability of accommodation (hotel reservation, declaration of hospitality, declaration of assumption of accommodation expenses by the inviter)
Step 3: Visa application Once all the documents listed above have been collected, it will be possible to formally apply for a visa. The visa application for Indian nationals can be made at the three Italian institutional offices present in Indian territory, namely:
  1. Consulate General of Italy in KOLKATA

  1. Embassy of Italy in NEW DELHI

Of course, in case of non-compliance, or lack of documentation, the Italian institutions may deny the visa application, invalidating the Indian citizen's efforts. All that remains is to carefully search for the necessary information to be able to apply for a visa, regardless of the type and reasons, and prepare one's dossier carefully to enter Italy without any problems.
