Welcome Association Italy participates in the Ceremony for the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Viet Nam and the Unification of the Country

Welcome Association Italy (WAI) was honored to participate in the official ceremony organized by the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the Unification of the Country, held today at the diplomatic headquarters in Via di Bravetta, Rome.

The ceremony, preceded by a photo exhibition on Italy's support for Viet Nam during the liberation process and followed by a reception with traditional specialties, was a moment of high cultural value and international dialogue.

Welcome Association Italy sincerely thanks the Embassy for the invitation and hospitality, and in particular theAssociation of Vietnamese Students in Italy (ASVI) for its ongoing commitment to fostering the meeting of cultures and generations. Special thanks to Chairwoman Vu Thi Bich Diep for her openness to future synergies dedicated to the support and enhancement of Vietnamese students in Italy.

WAI and ASVI share a common vision on the importance of structuring integrated welcoming pathways for students from Viet Nam, including pre-departure assistance, orientation to the Italian context, support in obtaining residence permits, accompaniment during the first months of stay, and cultural and civic participation initiatives. The goal is to provide a safe, dignified and culturally enriching study experience while enhancing the presence of the Vietnamese community in Italian academic institutions.

Statement by WAI Deputy Secretary General Carlo Palumbo:
"Participating in this anniversary was an important signal of respect and closeness to the Vietnamese community for us. WAI continues to promote opportunities for encounters and integration, valuing the role of the younger generations in building an increasingly inclusive and intercultural society."

Welcome Association Italy confirms its willingness to strengthen collaboration with international student associations, fostering structured paths of welcome, orientation and active citizenship.
