On October 7, 2024, an important international meeting entitled "Peace in the Middle East: An International Dialogue, " organized by theItalian Arab Assadakah Association and Welcome Association Italy. The event saw the active participation of leading representatives from the diplomatic, cultural and journalistic fields with the aim of addressing the crucial issue of peace in the Middle East.
The meeting was opened by the Deputy Secretary of the Welcome Association Italy, Carlo Palumbo, who welcomed those present and stressed the importance of such moments of discussion to promote constructive dialogue on the current situation in the region.
The discussion was moderated by poet Patrizia Boi and featured several experts and prominent figures, including:
Issam Al-Halabi, representative of Assadakah in Lebanon, spoke via video link and offered a firsthand perspective on the political and social dynamics of the Middle East.
During the discussion, the main challenges to achieving peace in the region were analyzed, with a focus on de-escalation mechanisms and diplomatic opportunities to end the ongoing conflict. Deputy Secretary Carlo Palumbo reiterated the importance of de-escalation as an essential tool to prevent the escalation of tensions and urged the international community to support dialogue as the only viable path to a lasting and peaceful solution.
The meeting provided a unique opportunity to discuss with international experts and players and highlighted the central role of cooperation between institutions, associations and communities in promoting peace in the Middle East.
