Do you hold a residence card or residence permit, of not less than one year's duration, for employment, self-employment, family, asylum, subsidiary protection, study or religious reasons?
You can apply for your family members to enter Italy as long as they are:
In order to start the reunification process, you must apply for a Nulla Osta for your family member at the Single Desk for Immigration (Ministry of the Interior)
Single Desk: Click here
Important: The use of a computer and Internet connection is necessary because the application must be filled out and sent by computer procedure.
1) Have a valid EC resident permit with a duration of not less than 1 year;
2) Have a gross annual income, from lawful sources, that is not less than the annual amount provided for social allowance increased by half the amount for each family member for whom reunification is sought;
3) Demonstrate that he/she owns, rents or rents a dwelling that meets the necessary sanitation requirements and has obtained housing eligibility;
4) attach, if a worker, documentation proving the income from the activity carried out, it should be noted that the determination of income is determined by the accumulation of all incomes of cohabiting family members;
5) For family members over 65 years of age, a policy of annual duration is required to cover sickness and accident risks, or enrollment in the SSN with payment in a lump sum of an annual lump-sum contribution.
Once the Nulla Osta has been obtained (within 180 days of the request), the family member must submit to the Italian Consular Authority on their territory (Embassy/Consulate) the certification, translated and validated, attesting to the family relationship.
The Sportello Unico will transmit the Nulla Osta to the Consular Authority, which, after also hearing the opinion of the Questura on any reasons that prevent reunification on Italian territory, will issue the Permesso di Soggiorno per Motivi Familiari (Residence Permit for Family Reasons), which will have the same duration as the residence permit of the family member who requested its reunification.
N.B.: The Residence Permit lapses due to the death of the family member who applied for reunification or legal separation and dissolution of marriage.
Remember: the Nulla Osta is valid for 6 months from the date of issuance, so the application for an Entry Visa to Italy must be made within that period.
Important: If the request for reunification is denied, it is possible to file an objection to the denial with the court of residence of the applicant for reunification.
